A HANDBAG thief who pounces on lone women after lurking near their homes is being hunted, following five violent attacks in Leamington and Warwick.

Victims were shoved in the back and handbags ripped from their grasp just yards from the safety of their homes.
Driving licences, debit cards and other personal possessions are among the items stolen, although in one incident the victim was carrying what police describe as "a large quantity of cash".
At lunchtime on Friday a 77-year-old woman was yards from LED Flexible Strip Silicone Series Silicone 5050 her home in Beverley Road, Leamington, when the mugger shoved her from behind and grabbed her handbag.
A few hours later a women walking with a friend near Woodloes Avenue South, in Warwick, was robbed in a similar way.
At about 5pm on Saturday a woman's bag was snatched from her as she neared her home in Telford Avenue, Leamington. Ninety minutes later a 53-year-old woman was robbed near her house in Warwick Terrace. The final attack at about 3pm yesterday was
embroidered patches on a woman who was approaching her home in Lillington Avenue.
The offender is described as white, in his late teens, of slim build and with a pale complexion.
Warwickshire Police spokeswoman, Di Houlder, said: "Many of the victims have been left very upset. We are obviously linking these attacks and would like to speak to anyone who can help."
